Clarithromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication can also be used in combination with anti-ulcer medication to treat certain type of stomach ulcers. It may aslo be used to prevent certain types of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacteria infections. Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
